                           PRODUCT REVIEW

First Impressions:

The phone now has a sturdier and more stylish metal frame as compared to its earlier plastic one, while this brushed metal finish does give an impressive look. The LED flash, the speaker grille and the camera look quite well-ensconced too. As usual the volume rocker is place to the left of the phone while the power button is to its right. The bottom of the phone is populated with a micro-USB slot, the mic &the 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is equipped with a large 3300 mAh removable battery placed at its back which also has the microSD and microSIM slots. You will be surprised at the easy handling, which is primarily due to the solid weight and metal frame that adorns the J7 and gives it an overall sturdy feeling.

Display:

With a massive five and a half inches Super AMOLED screen, the contrast ratios are brilliant. Its pixel density of 267 ppi is adequate too. The phone can be used with ease in the outdoors too as the 353 nits display rises to 484 nits when you press the Outdoor mode option.

Battery Life:

The massive 3300 mAh Li-Ion battery is a great enhancement and achieve more than 18 hours in a video playback test, while the web browsing test gave about 12 and a half hours which is great. The J7 is also great for 3G voice calls for an entire day and more.

User Interface:

The Samsung Galaxy J7 has the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow at your service with a TouchWiz UI, which has some useful features added now like Google Now, Doze mode and native support for app manager etc. The user interface is completely themable so incase you do not like the default look for the TouchWiz there are 3 pre-installed theme options and many more in the theme store. The Exynos 7870 Chipset with octacore CPU ensures that the interface faces no noticeable glitches during its usage.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Pros:

  • Premium built & Design
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0.1
  • Huge 3300 mAh battery
  • Good front & rear camera
  • Dual Sim with 4G LTE support
  • Brilliant Display in the outdoors too

Samsung Galaxy J7 Cons:

  • No Fingerprint sensor
  • No ambient light sensor
  • 2 GB RAM

Final Verdict:

Samsung Galaxy J7 is one of the better handsets released by the company during the year that not only looks impressive on the specification sheet but does not falter on the performance side too. With a solid build quality that impresses and a 5 MP front camera that performs brilliantly, this smartphone is surely a good buy for those who are willing to ignore a few drawbacks in exchange of the brand value that Samsung offers.
